Рекомендации для путешественников

Транспорт

Public transport is cheap. Street cars! Don't say "cable"

Have exact fare or buy a pass.
Обычаи и культура

People are friendly

Say hi to your neighbors- "good morning" or "good evening" especially to older folk.
Что взять с собой

Walking shoes, cotton shirts, sundresses

But be warned, most places have the air conditioning blasting so always have a sweater if you're not accustomed to this.
Как сэкономить

Site see and people watch in the "quarters"

Locals often refer to the French Quarter as just "the quarters." Grab a daiquiri to go or a drink from Pat O'Brien's.... do NOT go into the cemeteries alone. And yes, you can get drive through daiquiris or daiquiris by the gallon (great deal). Snow balls (don't say snow cone) are a local favorite because ... well it's HOT! Only eat oysters in months that contain R (that's what my granny used to say) and a po boy is a great meal anytime.
