Essentials

Quirky local grocery and delicatessen. It carries a mix of high and low end food items. All good dogs are welcomed with a treat at the cash register. Try their locally baked ciabatta bread and their house roasted coffee! The European Espresso Roast is heavenly for those who like a rich, dark roast.

Terrific eatery located in the historic Hotel Congress with a lovely, tree shaded outdoor section--perfect for bringing your dog! Food is always delicious, staff is always friendly and professional and there are daily specials that feature a Tucson twist. Cup is where the locals go and it's easily my favorite restaurant in Tucson.

Parks & Nature

It's 30 degrees cooler at any time of year! In just 27 miles you can see the same flora and fauna change you would observe driving from Mexico to Canada. While you are there check out the General Store for an amazing selection of fudge and the Cookie Cabin for a bite to eat and amazingly enormous cookies!

Neighborhoods

Armory Park has it all! The large park regularly hosts events such as music festivals, peace fairs, kids events fun runs and more. Every Sunday afternoon after 3pm you can join in the free acro yoga group that practices there. Just walk up and introduce yourself. You'll be welcomed! The Children's Museum is across the street and there are more theaters, restaurants, bars, galleries and shops popping up all the time. Armory Park is extremely walkable. In fact, the Turquoise Trail takes you past many of the amazing, historic mansions and homes of the area. At night, it will appear darker than most folks are accustomed to. The whole city of Tucson practices light pollution abatement which is a fancy way to say we limit our light sources at night so the astronomers at Kitt's Peak can have a better view of the night sky.
