Encanto Park is a great place for a family stroll and for those who love the outdoors. It's close enough to walk (10 minutes) and also convenient to drive to as there is lots of parking.

A really modern and well manicured place to experience the look and feel of the desert. It's 100% outdoors, so not the greatest spot from May until September, but beautiful the rest of the year around.

A very short hike (less than half a mile) to a picturesque lookout on phoenix. It’s in Papago park, which has tons of picnic gazebos and lots of walking trails. Close to the botanical gardens.

Taco Guild is a Phoenix icon on the overstocked and amazing taco scene. It's built into an old church and has great architectural features that preserve this old feel. There are old world and new world tacos... try the cherry steak, it's to die for.

Piestawa (also called Squaw back in the day) is a Phoenix maintained park that has great views of the city and multiple trails ranging from a mile to 8+ miles. The hike to the peak is difficult but amazing. There are flatter roundtrip hikes at the bottom for families.
Careful of hiking in the summer, as it's quite hot and the wildlife is out.
If you come up and there's no parking, often a spot will clear in a few minutes if you are willing to wait.

In my opinion, the very best restaurant in Phoenix. It's definitely a more expensive date night, but it's an amazing local place that just feels like home from the moment you walk inside. And the food is to die for.

Authentic Japanese restaurant. They don't take reservations, but there are generally open tables. They serve bento boxes and plates for lunch and have a full sushi bar, menu, and ramen for dinner. You'll hear them yelling in Japanese all throughout dinner :)
They are also BYOB with a $5 corkage, so bring your own beer and wine!

This is an awesome spot to take a group on those Monday and Tuesday nights as it keeps the price down for eating and boozing.
