These are shopping Malls which include retail outlets of all descriptions including high end brands eg Apple I store at Ayala or Forever 21 at SM.
All malls usually offer a food court serving local filipino food and filipino franschise foods / drink. Many restaurants too.
You can easily spend the day at the bigger ones eg SM or Ayala.

Food court at top floor. Scores of restaurants on "The Terraces" and some bars on the very top floor eg The Social.

Circa 30 mins by taxi along the South Road Property. Includes high viewing area overlooking the City & Mactan channel. This mall is a circular design so you just keep walking "on and on" until you see something you fancy.
Great shops, restaurants and cinema. Also an ice skating rink. Well worth a days visit!
I consider this to be the local mall and I think it is easily walkable but you may want to take short taxi / jeepney ride.
Has a cinema, good value supermarket with department store upstairs. Food courts and restaurants. Hairdressers and massage available.

Sightseeing locally around cebu City
These are attractions which are very popular with visitors to Cebu City. Some are well worth the effort to visit.
Entrance fees tend to be nominal and refreshments usually available on site.
About 45 mins / 1 hour up the mountain by taxi. A monument built by a local to the memory of his wife. Has fantastic views over the city. This is a very popular tourist destination.

One of the oldest streets in Cebu City. Area known as "Downtown". A bit run down now but has many cut price retail outlest for clothes, handbags, perfume etc. Worth a half day trip and some restaurants down there too.

At the top of The Crown Regency Hotel in Osmena Boulevard is the Sky Experience Adventure with Edge Coaster, Sky Walk and Zip Line. Not for the faint hearted!

Resorts for a Day trip
The better beaches nearby to Cebu City are on the island of Mactan. There are some public beaches but for a day of "luxury" why not visit a resort? Most allow day visitors for a fee usually inclusive of lunch. There are many to choose from and facilities vary from resort to resort but here are some of my favourites.
A fantastic 100 metre swimming pool is the highlight of this resort. Small beach available too.

This hotel has large "grassed" grounds and a reasonable swimming pool. It has probably the best beach of the resorts I have visited with plenty of sunbeds and food offerings on the beach.

A large resort with salt & fresh water lagoons spread over the site. Accomodation looks like old style plantation houses hence the name. Try the pony and carriage trip around the resort!

Public transport is readily available in AS Fortuna
White taxis with flag rate P40. Make sure driver turns on the meter. Most local trips should not exceed around P200. Ayala for example is about P130 subject to traffic.
Motor bike taxis ( Blue helmet drivers known as Ankers ) -Easliy flagged down and they carry spare helmet. Ideal for getting through traffic.
The famous Jeepneys are worth a try for a short journey eg down to J Centre Mall. P8 peso per ride.

Cebu is always warm so travelling light is recommended.
Cheap and quick launderettes are available all over Cebu including one opposite the condo. So I suggest travel light to save carrying heavy luggage around.
All major brand toiletries are available locally so again no need to bring with you.

Tap water is not drinkable / Street Food
Bottled water is readily everywhere in various sizes.
There is a water dispenser provision in the condo for the large multi gallon blue bottles. Hot and cold. Full bottle can be purchased at condo reception for p50.
Ice in restaurants etc is usually made from bottled water.
Street food is very popular with the locals and is very tasty and safe to eat as long as well cooked.
