Our most well known restaurant though it is in different hand from those who made if well known. It is definitely still a wonderful place to dine. Raven's and Cafe Beaujolais are at the top of my list for special celebrations.

Raven's is gourmet vegan. It is getting very well known in vegan circles. I can't tell you how many guests I having who come to Mendocino to try out this wonderful spot. The Stanford Inn where Ravens is located is one of our most socially conscious businesses. They support our community in a number of ways!

Classic Mendo atmosphere. I like breakfast in the glassed in porch, or sometimes outside. You can dine in the bar also. Dinner in dining room is nice too.

Guests are always asking where they can find delicious fish for dinner. While almost every restaurant will have fish on the menu, this restaurant is dedicated to fish. Creative treatments for fish, not your usual touristy fish stop. Plan to go here for a special night out. It is a very tiny restaurant so you will need a reservation. Ask for one of the 2 tables with the upfront ocean view.

Small, best salad bar in town. Limited menu but tasty sandwiches, a soup of the day. Very informal. Garden dining available. A locals place. Budget friendly.

Fern canyon trail hike is loverly, goods along Little River. I have watched salmon go upstream after the rains in fall/winter. Peaceful, contemplative walk. Level and easy. There is a beautiful headlands walk in another area of the park. Ask me.

Fern canyon hike ends in a little waterfall. Lovely. One morning early I saw a mother bobcat and 2 babies drinking from the pool at the base of the falls.

Gorgeous 10 mile beach walk. You will have it mostly to yourself. Sea lions can often be seen.

The headlands that surround Mendocino are State Park land. There is a trail that moseys along the cliffs. A great place to watch the sunset or to view the starry sky at night.

Small virgin redwood grove. Great place to stop on your way to Mendocino (if you are coming on highway 128), get out of your car, stretch your legs and breath in all that beauty.

Glass Beach has been advertised extensively. It is illegal to collect the glass and folks have been ticketed for doing so. I think it is over rated. You will find lots of people there and there are many more beautiful beaches. Check it out if you like but don't make it your only beach stop. Talk to me if you want to hear more.
