Once you decide to come and visit New York, if Statue of Liberty is one of your interests, you must buy tickets in advance to visit the island, they have high demand and also resales are very common, however If you couldn't make it before you always can go to South Ferry (the subway stop where you take the ferry to Liberty Island) and buy tickets from the resellers that could cost you up to 100$
