My favorite local bakery just steps from the house. They have the best bakklava. If you've never had a "turkse pizza" (turkish pizza), this is a great place to try one. It's vegetarian and a bit spicy, served on a fresh, warm, spiced bread with salad inside. Otherwise, all of the freshly-baked food is great here.

Anne Frank House

This is a great museum and very worthwhile to visit. However, it's very small and only a few visitors can enter at one time. Therefore, tickets are sold online. Make sure you book well in advance. https://www.annefrank.org/en/museum/tickets/

Buying tickets

You can buy tickets directly on the tram (debit card only) or at the metro station which is located on the main street just next to the house.

Albert Cuyp Market

One of the biggest markets in the country. Open every Monday-Saturday until 16:00, it has everything you could ever want and more including fresh Dutch baked goods like Stroopwaffles (thin waffles with a caramel syrup in the middle) and poffertjes (tiny little pancakes with sugar on top), Duch delicacies like haring (raw pickled fish), kibbling (small pieces of fried fish with fresh tartar sauce and fries). At the market, you can also find lots of souvenirs, clothing etc.

Restaurant Reservations

For eating in a restaurant on Thursday - Saturday, I highly recommend making a reservation (even for 2 people). It can be difficult to get a spot in a popular restaurant without a reservation.
