Food scene

Great and quite place in a corner, with terrace tables, pretty good Mexican food and the best Mezcal options in Condesa. Ask the staff to suggest the mezcal according to your food. Haven´t tried mezcal? It´s the new, stronger flavor and more elegant Mexican tequila.

A very small & quite joint but with unique premium imported tea. Every publication states that this place is one of the best 3 tea houses in all of Mexico. No coffee here. If you´ll like to hear some stories and taste a traditional asian style fine quality tea, this is the place! Just around the corner (and my Tea Master brother is the owner =)

The best place in Mexico City to try Tacos al Pastor. You could order just the meat or have it the Mexican style (a slice of pineapple, fresh onion and cilantro with some spicy sauce). A few drops of lemon and that´s it! There are 2 locations in the same street, the one in the corner of Tamaulipas & Campeche is the best.

This is the place you have heard of. Open till 5:00AM, is right across the street from the apartment. The must: Gaona con queso (a type of juicy beef fillet grilled with Oaxaca cheese in a tortilla) Pastor Tacos and the “nopalitos con queso” (veggie dish). For dessert, order a flan or panque de elote (sweet corn kind of muffin). If you like to taste salsa but don´t like the spice, ask for the “tamarindo sauce”. If there is a waiting list, wait!

One of the most popular places in the city to have food from Yucatán (yes, the ancient Maya cuisine). A must is the sopa de lima (lime & chicken soup) and the world famous cochinita pibil tacos (seasoned pork). For a not so loud experience (we Mexicans tell to speak pretty loud), try the 2nd or 3rd floor on top of their “Cantina”.
