Neighborhood coffee shop in walking distance, they also do some breakfast dishes. There’s a short cut If you walk through the cul de sac then down the stairs on Crestmore St you’ll end up on Verdugo Rd, from there it’s a very short walk to Habitat.

There’s lots of great Mexican food in Los Angeles, and this place is my personal favorite. Excellent margaritas, and lots of interesting moles and chile rellenos, variety of killer tacos, amazing carnitas, and delicious soups too. The chips and salsa they give you to start are to die for!

Hiking
There’s a great hiking trail through the park, with view of Downtown from one side and northeast LA from the other.

The silver lake reservoir has a nice community pedestrian path, if you walk the whole way around it’s about 2.6 miles. You can’t go inside the reservoir though...unfortunately it’s just for looking, not for swimming.
