Tamaki Drive Walk, Central Auckland. My favourite. Walking along Tamaki Drive is one of the best ways to appreciate the beauty of Auckland’s amazing harbour setting.
Tamaki Drive curves along the waterfront from downtown Auckland to St Heliers Bay, offering a superb outlook over the sparkling Waitemata Harbour. Mission Bay is one of Auckland’s most popular beaches, with its iconic 1950s fountain, old mission house – now a cafe – and perfect picnic spots. There are kids’ playgrounds at Mission Bay and St Heliers beaches. If you feel like a detour, walk up to Bastion Point, a historical site with incredible views (allow extra time).

The walkway is completely flat, so is suitable for every level of fitness and accessible for prams.
