A little and beautiful bar close to San Marco Square but hidden in a narrow street in which locals and gondoliers use to go to eat tasty "tramezzini" and sandwiches. A little jewel in the middle of the turistic area where you can eat and drink a great beer in the heart of Venice. All hand made and good quality!

4540 Calle de le RasseA little and beautiful bar close to San Marco Square but hidden in a narrow street in which locals and gondoliers use to go to eat tasty "tramezzini" and sandwiches. A little jewel in the middle of the turistic area where you can eat and drink a great beer in the heart of Venice. All hand made and good quality!
Osteria Alla Staffa serves delicious food from noon onwards. The food, as recommended by Rick Stein in his program on Italy, is very Venetian if sitting down to eat. If you stand at the bar, you can eat the equivalent of tapas - small meals, perhaps 4 to a plate and these are delicious with creamed fish, octopi, cod and other delights. However, if you go to sit down, you can share a plate of these but have to also order from the menu inside, which has the typically primo, secondo dishes. These dishes varying in price from euro 15 upwards in general, are delicious and the liver plus the bacalhou are recommended. It is truly good food with a lovely combination of Venetian, regional and Italian

All visitors of Burano remain intrigued by the many colours and the colorful houses that are reflected into the green waters of channels, by the leaning bell tower, by the tranquility and the calmness with which the elderly ladies embroider original Burano lace by their tombolo (or lace pillow), while they are laughing and chatting in squares among them. It seems to be in paradise. Children who dart freely with their bicycles, balconies with multicolored flowers, fishermen who put up fresh fish from their traditional boats.

The structure is made up of three large blocks, incorporating previous constructions. The wing towards the St. Mark’s Basin is the oldest, rebuilt from 1340 onwards. The wing towards St. Mark’s Square was built in its present form from 1424 onwards. The canal-side wing, housing the Doge’s apartments and many government offices, dates from the Renaissance and was built between 1483 and 1565.
