Good coffee and cafe food. Also sell delicious bread and pastries from Noisette bakery. If you are here on a weekend try the Devonshire Tea!

Housed in an old mafia club house Neighbourhood Wine is the kind of place you can pull up a barstool for a quite drink or book a table for ten for one of their Sunday roast lunches. Open every day from around lunch until midnight.

Officially the best Margarita pizza in the world (award wining). The rest of the menu is pretty great too.

Essentials
One of my favourite places to visit! Maria's is a family owned Italian deli which has been here since 1978! I defy anyone to try and walk out of there without an arm full of cheeses, olives, pasata and home made pasta. Hot tip: Try the gnocchi. Maria's also has a sister pasta shop down half a block down.

Perfect place for a picnic, three on three bball or a game of bocce. Edinburgh Gardens also houses a tennis court, football ground and lawn bowls club. Basically Fitzroy's communal back yard in summer.

Housed in pretty Carlton Gardens Melbourne Museum is well worth a visit for permanent collection room of taxidermy animals alone! They also host world class exhibitions... check the website for current showings.
