Vogrie country park is 3 miles away and has over 11 miles of signed countryside paths through woodlands and the Tyne Valley. There is a cafe, bbq areas and a golf course as well as other facilities and features too.

Borthwick castle is a historic building on our doorstep which played a massive part in history witnessing key moments in the lives of key historical figures such as Mary, Queen of Scots and Oliver Cromwell.

Crichton castle is a beautiful ruin protected by historic Scotland and it had influential residents in its past included James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell and third husband of Mary Queen of Scots.
There is a lovely local walk through Curry woods over to Crichton castle where you can take in Crichton’s splendid isolation – the castle sits on a terrace overlooking the River Tyne

Crichton castle is a beautiful ruin protected by historic Scotland and it had influential residents in its past included James Hepburn, 4th Earl of Bothwell and third husband of Mary Queen of Scots.

the ancestral home of the St Clair family, which is just a short walk from the Chapel. Rosslyn Castle has evolved over centuries and this Castle probably replaced an even earlier one, situated nearby. The oldest part of the Castle is the remains of the ‘lantern’ or ‘lamp tower’ by the bridge and this was probably built around 1304, after the Battle of Roslin.
Rosslyn Chapel is just a short walk away too - where you toy can explore the inside and outside - Practically every surface of this unique building is carved in an outstanding display of craftsmanship and there is a lot of history there too.
There are some lovely woodland walks around Rosslyn Glen too, including a walk past Wallace’s Cave
