This is were the famous "Edam" Dutch cheese originates and since 1989, the cheese market in Edam has been revived as a re-enactment for tourists. It is held each July and August on each Wednesday.

Built by the Catholics from 1895 to 1930 to replace the Sint-Bavokerk on the Grote Markt, that had been converted to Protestantism from Catholicism in 1578.

A must do! Haarlem's own beer brewery, "Jopen" with a brewery, bar and restaurant inside an old Cathedral. Great atmosphere and one of the best beers (over 20 on tap) you will have in the Netherlands. They also have a celebrated restaurant.
