Dishoom is around 10 minutes walk from my place, situated off the busy Shoreditch high street, inspired by Old Irani Cafes of Bombay, serving a marriage of bold and subtle flavours, suitable for any kind of occasion. I'd reccomened breakfast here as you won't be waiting in their famous 90 min queues, and will experience something a little different!

On the opposite side of the cobble street, New Street Grill is housed in an 18th-century warehouse with a gentleman's club atmosphere and a walled courtyard. As me for a reservation and I will try to get you 20% off your food bill for being a resident of the street. It is a great place to entertain clients, or for a really great steak!

Stack 'em up and you get the equivalent of 30 London Shard buildings. These fully loaded bad boys served with anything you can imagine, is only 5 minutes away from my place so you can quite literally roll home!

Not for the faint hearted, climbing all 311 steps and 61 metres of Monument is well worth it for the view. Built between 1671 and 1677, Monument was built to honour all those that died in the Great Fire of London on the 5th September 1666.

The circumstances of how the name was changed from St Mary’s Park to Aftab Ali Park in 1998 is something which is not well noted on local attractions, however is integral to the local community.
Aftab Ali was a Bangladeshi textile worker who was the victim of one of many racist attacks that were occurring at the time he lived in Whitechapel. But it seemed that his murder on the 4th May 1978 was the final straw for the local community. They took to the streets in protest, carrying his coffin all the way to 10 Downing Street, and over time managed to make a positive change in reducing racism in the East End.
