There's fresh bread from Orchard Hill Breadworks on Tuesday and Saturday. On Saturday nights from late May through September, there's delicious made-to-order pizza baked in the wood-fired oven behind the store. Enjoy the pizza with friends, listening to live music during the summer, or take it out. There is a nice collection of local crafts, too. The post office, with limited hours, is also located here.

A bit of a drive from the cottages, but Sanctuary's ice cream is among the best anywhere! There's a play area for young children, a few animals to see, and a farm store with some local foods.

The summer home of 19th-20th century American sculptor Augustus St. Gaudens and a part of the Cornish Artist Society, this home and sculpture studio has lovely grounds with some of St. Gaudens' most famous sculptures, a peaceful view of Mt. Ascutney, and wonderful concerts on summer Sunday afternoons. The drive along Rt. 12A north from Claremont is lovely in all seasons.
