Gosforth - eating and drinking
The best pub on the High Street (in my opinion), good atmosphere, usually good music, a decent selection of drinks and it does decent food. It's open until midnight on the weekend.

The nearest and it's fairly decent, it often does deals such as 241 meals and cheap drinks on a Monday. It has a snug at the back which is nicer than the front bar if you're after a more quiet pint.

Really nice Lebanese which does eat in (BYO) and take-away. The Baby Chicken is our go-to take-away.

Community run centre which does really lovely breakfast and snacks and has an interesting programme of film, music and talks. It often has a food stall there on a Friday in the summer.

Quayside pub. Actually located between the legs of the Tyne Bridge. Owned by Wylam. Good beer, food and a nice roof terrace.

Quayside (Gateshead side). A fantastic place on the river in a set of old shipping containers (beautifully done). Home to a great food market on a weekend with a load of interesting traders. Also home to the much-lauded (and Jay Raynor favourite) Trakol.

Ouseburn. A trip to Newcastle really should include a trip down the Ouseburn. This is my favourite place in Newcastle, quirky decor (Star Wars fans will appreciate the display), great food, music and drinks and often hold events in the back room.

Town Moor. Located about 30 minutes walk from our house just on the edge of the City Centre, this brewery in the home of an old Military Museum is well worth a look. Nice tap room and often hold events in the main hall as well as food festivals outside.
