Parks & Nature
If you are Lucky you will be greeted by squirrel monkeys living wild a beautiful informative walk along a beautiful jungle path. The botanical gardens and archeological site are overlooked gems. Established many years ago, the gardens are diverse and mature. Raised beds of traditional Mayan medicinal herbs may also be seen under cultivation. Archeology spans from Mayan ruins, through the gum harvesting era to rebuilt Mayan huts. A morning walk will often include sightings of monkeys in tree canopy.
Reasonably priced entrance is helpful to land preservation as well as local awareness of environmental issues.
The entrance is difficult to see. When heading North on route 307 slow down
