A must-see is the Wintergarden, a gorgeous old enormous glass houses with NZ and exotic flora, including large lily ponds, and a fernery. The park is the largest in Auckland and has beautiful old indigenous and exotic trees, cricket grounds, outdoor sculptures, jogging tracks, duck ponds etc.
The Auckland Museum is also in these grounds.

Google all the local dealer art galleries as they are within walking distance of each other. Check out the boutiques between East St. and Mercury Lane. Go to the Cross St. Market if it's open.
