I would also recommend this area for day trips and going out: it is a touristic strip with many hotels, restaurants, shops and a port.

Remains of ancient Neapolis were found here, including an establishment for the manufacture of garum, a sauce made from pickled fish which was much favored by the Romans.

Perfect for a day trip: Korba is 20km/12.5mi northeast of Nabeul, a bird watcher's paradise, home to Roman ruins and a Festival of Young Theatre annually in August.

I definitely recommend this day trip; An hour and half drive from Nabeul, Al huwariyah has amazing beaches, a rock cave. There is a restaurant that serves excellent fish with a great view.

There is also a Friday market where you can find a variety of fresh and local products.
