Voted best small restaurant by the Age Food Guide a couple of years ago, this cute little French place specialises in duck. I haven't been, but it's long overdue on my to do list.

I go in there for their fresh, daily salads, and their take-home-and-heat meals. They also have nice desserts. Their coffee's not that great though, I hear.

Crowded, noisy, but decent vegetarian meals. Mostly Greens is what I go there for: a big pile of greens, with some brown rice and a sauce of your choosing.

These folks make my fave hot chocolate in the neighbourhood at the moment. Lovely ambience. Good food, I hear. I go there sometimes on my own, sit at the bar and read a book.

I go there for their kangaroo steak with bernaise sauce. It's iconic. When they removed it from their menu, the locals protested and brought it back. Their Bogan Burger is also an institution.

Good vegetarian tucker - authentic Morrocan flavours. This place is always busy. I sometimes bring a container, and get takeaway for a picnic in the Edinburgh Gardens nearby.

Fabulous fries with smoked paprika. Awesome nachos made with real corn tortillas. The menu's pretty tex mex but it's lovely anyway. Big fan of their unlimited supply of hot sauces.
