The local pub serves excellent food and drink. Dog and child friendly (great children's menu with colouring), they are known for Tapas on Tuesday evenings and a superb Roast on a Sunday lunchtime! The pretty beer garden has lovely views over the village green and Cricket pitch. Go for lunch on a Saturday in the summer and you are likely to see a match in progress!
We recommend their signature Baked Camembert to share with a chilled glass of White !

The picture postcard coastal village of Lulworth is an hours drive from the cottage. There is a Castle to explore, as well as a lovely walk along the coastal path from Lulworth across to Durdle Door.

This one is a MUST DO! A stunning nature reserve with heath land and sand dunes which lead down to pristine beaches. These slope gently into the sea, making them ideal for families with young children! A visit to Old Harry Rocks is recommended (beware of the cliff edges on this walk)
There is a National Trust Shop and Cafe as well as The Pig on the Beach for the foodies!

Studland Nature Reserve

Owned by the National Trust you can reach Brownsea Island by boat from Sandbanks or Poole. It is great for a day trip with forests and beaches to explore. The island is home to a thriving colony of Red Squirrels and a huge variety of other wildlife.
