You must rub the Porcellino’s nose. Legend says it guarantees a return to Florence. It’s located in the Mercato del Porcellino, on the way to Ponte Vecchio from Piazza Duomo. If you want a shot if it without the market, go in at night!

In the San Lorenzo area there’s the leather market, kind of Aladdin style. Careful with pickpockets and don’t buy much of anything besides small little knickknacks, as most things aren’t made in Italy or aren’t made with Italian leather even if they’re marked as “made in Italy”.

It’s free to go in to the inner courtyard, then there’s the ticket office to access the museum, the famous Hall of the Cinquecento, and to climb the Arnolfo tower!
