This place has some of the best authentic street tacos around! And don't forget to try the elotes (looks like plain ol' corn but they add lime, sour cream, cheese and chili powder and it may not sound good, but it is AWESOME!) Oh, and did I mention you can gas up your car here too? Also, on the weekends there is a DJ in the parking lot!

They are open 24 hours, but the breakfast is the best thing! They have 7-8 different flavors of coffee at a time, and you can get a bottomless cup to try them all! The Brazilian breakfast is awesome, as is the French toast.

They have awesome burgers, chicken sandwiches, etc... but their hot dogs are ridiculously good! They are grilled with homemade chili and grated cheddar cheese yumminess!!

These are some of the best burgers in Dallas, and Dallas has some strong contenders. This little place though is still my favorite. Whatever you do though, don't sit at a table until after you order your food, or they will kick you out! Follow the rules!!

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food (mostly seafood, not Tex-Mex) this place is awesome. Everything is very fresh and healthy. I love the Ceviche!

This is a great restaurant/cocktail bar right next door to the property. They have really good drinks, and a nice happy hour as well. The food is yummy too, although a little pricey, but would be a great option for a quick dinner.

If you want great barbecue, skip Pecan Lodge with the other tourists, and check out Slow Bone. Much better food! The brisket, the ribs, the fried okra, the greens, its ALL good! And its all home made in house. By the way, its a TON of food, so come hungry. You'll thank me later.

Awesome park in the middle of Downtown and Uptown, with food trucks lined up to choose from, a restaurant, bar, and just lots of games and activities and places to relax. They do yoga there on the weekends, and it is free!

You can ride the DART rail to the zoo and it is super convenient! They have really updated the zoo in the last few years, and it has gotten much better. The Africa exhibit is really good and there is a train that takes you all through it.

This is a very unique aquarium. You actually walk through what seems like a rain forest, and there is a really cool penguin exhibit as well.

This is one of my favorite bars in Dallas. It kind of has the vibe of an old speakeasy, and is very small and dark. But the drinks... well they are awesome!! They have a phenomenal happy hour Monday through Friday, and anytime its raining, and you can get Moscow Mules, Garden Gimlets, and Old Fashion's for around $4-5 each. Be careful though, if you get there around 5, you will be ready for bed by 7! They pour a strong drink, and they sneak up on you because they are so good!!

Right across the street from the Truck Yard, Single Wide is just like the name says. It looks like the inside of a trailer, and is about the same size. They have some awesome specialty drinks though, but be careful, they will have you acting like trailer trash after just one or two! I typically fall victim to the Yoohoo Yahoo, which tastes like a chocolate shake, and I always regret it the next day.

I typically fall victim to the Yoohoo Yahoo, which tastes like a chocolate shake, and I always regret it the next day.

This is a true yuppie bar, and the latest is the Dallas urban professional scene. Lots of pretty people here, so dress to impress! The good thing is that it is BIG. Lots of room to handle the huge crowds that come here after work.

Did you say Daiquiri to go?? What!!?? How do they get away with that?? I'll tell you how. You drive around what looks like a small blue house, and they have a window on one side where they pass you the daiquiri of your choice in a Styrofoam cup and a straw, enclosed in a ziplock bag. GENIUS!! Ask for the extra shot on top. Totally worth it.
