Real-deal Thai food in a no-nonsense space. It's an easy walk from the apartment. Try to prawn choo chee, massaman beef, and the pork belly nam prik. But really, everything is good here. If the heat gets to you, cool it down with a fresh coconut drink.

Very creative cafe with a fun, stylish fitout. It's a good sunny spot for sitting and watching the Crown Street style set walk by.

This amazing subterranean French-ish restaurant takes the brasserie concept to top heights. Amazing vibe, topnotch service and a terrific wine and whiskey list. It's French with flair, but not any pomp, and maybe a hint of Asian twists to the classics.

This bakery-cafe is one of my favourite Bondi stops, and is a 10-minute walk away from the beach, so the bustling spot has more of a Sydneysider feel (but it's Bondi, so people are from all over the world). Quality shakshuka.

One of the best new cafes in Sydney, Matinee is a sweeping space with a bit of a 1950s Venice Beach feel. The menu is inspired, as is the decor. It's off the beaten track, but worth the Uber ride.

It's a scene, but it's the best way to take in Coogee after a beach day, or the Bondi-to-Coogee walk. Bring deodorant, since there are some beautiful people around. If someone lets their paddle down, nab one of the pingpong tables before or after some woodfired pizza or raw bar action.

Take the ferry from Circular Quay to here for a terrific, cheap way to see the harbour. The slow ferry is actually more scenic, but you can definitely take the fast ferry if you're in a hurry.

Amazing ocean views from this up-and-down coastal walk. It actually goes all of the way to Coogee if you want a bigger walk. It's a great, scenic way to get some sun and exercise. A must-do.
