A 40 minute ride by train from the Glattbrugg train station will bring you to the largest waterfall in Europe on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich. During the summer especially the restlessly cascading waters can be a breathtaking sight to watch. Fortunately it never stops flowing so you could visit them anytime of the day or night for free! There is no entry fee or gates to pass thru and during the night the core of the fall is lit by powerful spot lights splaying variegated patterns across the night sky! And for those professional photographers it is nothing but a free feast!!
