Cramond Island is a tidal island about one mile (1.6 km) out to sea, which is connected to the mainland at low tide across the Drum Sands. A paved path, exposed at low water, allows easy access. This causeway runs at the foot of a row of concrete pylons on one side of the causeway, which were constructed as a submarine defence boom during the Second World War and are one of the most striking sights in the area.
Good for all year round birdwatching but particularly early summer. Range of species includes waders, gulls, tits, finches, warblers, kingfisher, dipper, grey wagtail, mute swan, mallard, cormorant, merganser.
Car parking is available in Cramond village, it is also easily accessible on the LRT Bus 41 (Barnton) from Frederick St. or George St.

Princes Street Gardens is a public park in the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland, in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle.
The Gardens were created in two phases in the 1770s and 1820s following the long draining of the Nor Loch and building of the New Town, beginning in the 1760s.
The loch, situated on the north side of the town, was originally an artificial creation forming part of its medieval defences and made expansion northwards difficult.
The water was habitually polluted from sewage draining downhill from the Old Town.
In 1846 the railway was built in the valley to connect the Edinburgh-Glasgow line at Haymarket with the new northern terminus of the North British line from Berwick-upon-Tweed at Waverley Station

Come and see the world's largest equine sculptures up close - and even go inside to marvel at the complexity and the engineering which created these fantastic pieces of art. The Kelpies are 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal, and near River Carron, in The Helix, a new parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area, Scotland. The sculptures were designed by sculptor Andy Scott and were completed in October 2013. 22-26 S Clerk St36
(рекомендации местных жителей)From their website...As they say everything improves with age. On Edinburgh's south side, just behind the Meadows on South Clerk Street, is The Southern. With a respectful nod to all previous incarnations of this much-loved Edinburgh pub, we've taken the bits our regulars love and made them even better. Here you'll find a passionately sourced, rotating range of eclectic craft beers and ales on twenty pumps, as well as new takes on our lovingly handmade gourmet burgers.
A safe and inclusive bar/restaurant which is also family friendly (during the day of course).
