We can really recommend Beach Restaurant "Tent 6" (tent6.nl) run by Kim and her husband for a relaxing day at the beach. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner or you can just have a drink. They are open from March 1st to mid October daily from 09:00.

Enjoy nature in the most breathtaking natural surprise in the Randstad: National Park Zuid-Kennemerland. The location and beauty of this 3800 acres large reserve attracts many people who enjoy hiking, cycling, horse riding and swimming. The National Park is composed of young calcerous dunes, wide beaches and lush coastel forests as well as remnants of cultural history like farms/estates, seaside villages and bunkers. Differences in soil, elevation, climate and groundwater levels in dunes provide diverse living conditions for both flora and fauna alike. While the elements, sand, rain and wind only serve to reinforce the biological dynamics of the area.

Stroll past the bakery museum and enjoy the smell of fresh bread, or take a look at the warehouse where clogs are made. You should be sure not to miss the cheese factory, pewter foundry and the various windmills. The Zaanse Schans is a unique part of the Netherlands, full of wooden houses, mills, barns and workshops. Make a cycling or sailing trip, browse the shops or treat yourself at the pancake restaurant. A day out at the Zaanse Schans in North Holland is fun and educational.

Strolling past the listed buildings, canals, shops, museums and terraces, you'll be amazed at the beauty of the old town centre.
Alkmaar is obviously famous as a cheese town: for centuries the world-famous cheese market has been held here on Friday mornings from April to September. Keukenhof is the international and independent showcase for the Dutch floricultural sector, with a special emphasis on flower bulbs. In the space of eight weeks Keukenhof shows what the Dutch floricultural sector has to offer. The focus in the park is on the 7 million spring-flowering bulbs, in which the 100 participating companies show their living catalogue. In more than 20 flower shows, 500 flower growers present an enormous variety of cut flowers and pot plants.
Keukenhof is open again from 22 March untill 13 May 2018.
