Food Scene

This is the main "ćevapi" place in Sarajevo, forget what other tell you :) - the Sarajevans will never agree whic one is actually the best, but many would agree with me.

A nice, trendy, lunch and dinner restaurant, with a good service and good wine selection, mid-range prices, but very positive experiences.

A nice bakery near the flat where you can buy fresj "somuni" - traditional bread from the coal-furnaces, similar to the pita bread. I suggest you buy the bread and then proceed up the Alifakovac, to the top of the hill and its historic cemetery, and then make a small circle through the "mahala" neighbourhood to the flat. But beware - the bread will be gone by the time you get there, it is too delicious to survive the walk :)

A gorgeous but also expensive(ish) place, with wounderfull decor and amazing food. Good for both indoor and outdoor dining. Also offers nice Sunday brunch.

Drinks & Nightlife

Lonely Planet review: "Sedate and outwardly grand, this tiny and eccentric bar adds understated humour to a cosy treasure trove of antiques and kitsch, reflected in big art-nouveau mirrors."

Shopping

Buybooks is the most iconic bookstore in Sarajevo. There you can buy books in local languages, but also in English, as well as a curated selection of souvenirs. Beside that - you can saty at the Buybook café for a coffee, tea or a glass of wine, and enjoy your time just by reading or listening to good music.
