Sightseeing
This is one of the prettiest beaches on the coast with the historic lime kilns superbly blending with the coastal cliffs. This is where the majority of Melbourne's lime was mined, kilned and shipped to Melbourne. This place built our city. The history is awesome at the same time the scenery is stunning. If you like to cycle, then make this a destination. If you like fishing, you will already have it on the radar. And a walk around to Walkie North beach with fossils in the rocks on the beach is also lovely. Plus some cool bushwalks around.

Take walking shoes and insect repellent.
Although there are times the little flying critters are not so active, there are other times when you will need the back up of some quality repellent.

Just really really beautiful inlet. Amazing for fishing, boating, yachting, wind surfing and rolling down big sand dunes. My personal favouite activity is just walking from the inlet side to the sea side. It takes around 20 minutes through a sand version of a moonscape. Wear sun protection and lots of sunscreen in warm months.

Just really really beautiful inlet. Amazing for fishing, boating, yachting, wind surfing and rolling down big sand dunes. My personal favouite activity is just walking from the inlet side to the sea side. It takes around 20 minutes through a sand version of a moonscape. Wear sun protection and lots of sunscreen in warm months.
Drinks & Nightlife
Next door to the general store, the take away place does Paella on a Saturday evening.
It is also open most nights for a drink, and a meal, and of course the usual take away range. (Salad though is not particularly inspiring there).
