So much more than a bakery. A huge Italian eatery just next to the Nova Cinema entrance so you can kill two birds with one stone. And just a 10 - 15 min walk away.

The bartenders are magicians - often win awards. Don't bother with the menu. Just tell the bartender what you like and have they'll whip up something splendid.

There's something on in this fabulous old building almost every weekend now so, chances are, they'll be something of interest when you come and stay. House is 5 or 6 minutes walk from here through the lovely Carlton Gardens.

Shopping
There is so much great shopping in Fitzroy, and most of it is really indi and original. Gertrude St has some expensive boutiques but even if you're not buying, they're worth a look. My favourites are Ess Laboratory, Signet Bureau and Dogstar.

Just around the corner, with plenty of supplies for a short stay, particularly if you supplement from Alimentari next door and Wine Republic a few doors down. If you need a bigger shop, Coles is a couple of minutes walk away on Johnston St.
