Much less interesting than the Vondelpark but therefore also much less crowded. Great if you want to do some running or just enjoy some rest.

Not the cheapest but this excellent restaurant (Ramada Apollo Hotel) has a great view over the city. Especially on the 'bar' side of the building. So also good for just a cocktail with a view.
