Food, Drinks, small pool for the kids. This would be a "by water" destination from our place is you just wanted to boat farther than Dog Days or Backwaters. I think they have breakfast also. Call to make sure.

Breakfast by water. Waits can be long. We usually go during the week. Check their schedule to make sure what weekdays they are open.

New pool. Decent food, good atmosphere. Not too far by land or water. Not the best for kids, they can't really get in the pool, except for limited times in the morning till very early afternoon.

By Water (~5 miles) Good drinks, awesome view. Docks can be very rough on summer Saturdays though.

Sightseeing
Usually a spring or fall destination for us. Cool/Scary old bridge that you can drive across. Kids like to play near or in the creek depending on temp. Also can be good for an interesting change of pace on really hot summer days because it is spring fed. Be warned though - even though it is only 15 min by car, it is a whole different part of Missouri. Do not attempt by water. It can be done on jet ski, but gets very shallow.
