The easiest summit to reach from Innsbruck. Take the Hungerburgbahn from Congress and then the cable car at Hungerburg. In Summer the walk to Pfeishutte is spectacular, 4 hours return.

An easy summit from Innsbruck. Take bus J to Igls and take the Patscherkofelbahn all the way up or stop at Heiligwasser for a great lunch. The Zirbenweg trail is an easy, beautiful walk from here.

The train to Seefeld takes about 40 minutes and travels through spectacular scenery. The village itself is wonderful any time of year, with great saunas, hikes and ski touring.

The best huts aren't accessible by cable car. To get to Hottinger Alm walk from Seegrube (1.5 hours) or straight from the city (quite steep, 3 hours).

The closest glacier to Innsbruck. Great slopes, stunning views and a long season make it great skiing, but also nice to visit in Summer. About 1.5 hours by bus from the Hauptbahnhof.
