The Rendezvous is the FULL BBQ EXPERIENCE in town. It is located in Downtown and is a Memphis Institution!! They are smoking ribs in this alley hideaway of historic restaurant known for BBQ. It is worth the wait at the upstairs bar to be ushered to your table below street level to experience these ribs (wet or dry rub) pulled pork, and all the fixins' :)

Tsunami is a Memphis favorite in the Cooper Young neighborhood. Known for it's fresh seafood, that is flown in from Hawaii and sliced in the back kitchen. This chef serves it up with a asian/pacific twist.

This neighborhood hangout is just a mile from the house (North on Cooper toward Madison Ave.) There are plenty of restaurants from: SECOND LINE (New Orleans inspired Po Boys and shrimp & Oysters) IRIS (res. needed), BOSCO"S BREW pub, to LAFAYETTE'S MUSIC listening room (day & night live music) and restaurant, Babalu restaurant with interesting small plates, Memphis Pizza Cafe, Bayou (Lousiana style food) Bar & Grill, Local gastro Pub, clothing boutiques, yoga studio, movie theater, candy store...a good spot to walk around and poke! Further down the street is MOLLY's for Mexican (Mom and Pop shop), and the BLUE MONKEY BAR for great bar food and drink, pool tables and some live music at night.

The sister to the Beauty Shop restaurant ...next door....is DKDC BAR- (DONT KNOW DONT CARE) bar. Funky little, well lit, well decorated place for the occasional great night of live music. If you hit a Memphis favorite you may have to squeeze your way in through the hipsters to get a spot. Many of the older hipsters have played music with all the greats from Memphis' past Music scene. Be friendly, you never know who's next to you, in this place.

Funky little, well lit, well decorated place for the occasional great night of live music. If you hit a Memphis favorite you may have to squeeze your way in through the hipsters to get a spot. Many of the older hipsters have played music with all the greats from Memphis' past Music scene. Be friendly, you never know who's next to you, in this place.
Just looking for a good old Irish Pub...here it is! Complete with a great patio and full menu. Remember the Irish say a Guinness cures all.

If you would like a nice walking loop through the park. There is an entrance to the old forest and paved trail, next to the dog park and exits near the golf club house. This is an old growth forest in the center of the city. Or you can choose to relax on a picnic bench near the small lake.
