Also known as the "CAC," this is Quito's small but growing contemporary art museum. The museum is housed in a former military hospital with beautiful architecture. Great installation art pieces.

El Panceillo ("little loaf of bread") is a small hill that juts out of Old Town. Our equivalent of Rio's Christ the Redeemer sits on top - The Virgin of Panecillo. Best experienced at night/on weekend

A medium-sized park in the center of modern Quito. The park is used heavily for sport, and there is heavy traffic on all sides, so it is not very serene. That said, the Botanical Garden is a must.

The heart of the "nightlife district." It's quiet during the day, but very, very rowdy at night (think Bourbon St in NOLA). Lots of tourists on the younger end of the spectrum.
