Food Scene

A favourite with the locals, Moo’s is a good choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Marty has worked hard to create a fun, cosy dining atmosphere. If you’re fortunate to be around on the last Friday of the month, why not try their “International Dinner” – $50 for a 4-5 course set menu sampling food from a different country each month (bookings essential)!

Parks & Nature

Beaches are a major drawcard for visitors. Tidal River offers beach and river frontage that’s within easy reach of the campground. Squeaky Beach is named for the squeaky sound the sand makes under your feet. Walking tracks range in length and difficulty with something to suit everybody. You can enjoy native flora and fauna in under an hour (Lilly Pilly Gully) or really immerse yourself in it on an overnight hike (permits required). A favourite of ours is Tongue Point which covers a range of terrain, beautiful views and the opportunity to take a sneaky dip if you bother to follow the path down to Fairy Cove. The view from Mt Oberon is one of the most photographed well worth the climb.

Waratah Bay is a beautiful beach approximately 20 minutes drive from Foster. The backdrop of Wilsons Promontory makes this beach stunning just to walk along if you’re not interested in swimming. The water gets deeper very gradually making it a great beach to splash around in without the fear of deep water. Dogs are allowed on leads at the eastern end of the beach (the first car park on the left after the bend as you come into Waratah Bay). Waratah Bay is most pleasant on sunny, still days as it can get very cold and gusty if it’s windy elsewhere.
