OSP is a well known pizza shop within walking distance from the house. It has a welcoming atmosphere and some of the best pizza around.

Fluffy Fresh is a little hole-in-the-wall donut shop in downtown Mission. First introduced to me by an Airbnb guest who used to live in the area, it is truly a KC treasure. If you're a donut connoisseur, this place is for you. Two things to note: - Once they sell out, they close shop. I've never been able to get a donut here later than 9am. - They only accept cash.

I'm not going to claim that KC is known for it's parks & nature...but if you're looking for a relaxing hike near the house, Shawnee Mission Park is about 10 minutes away and offers miles of beautiful hiking trails.

Arts & Culture
A fun, historical hub of Kansas City. A lot of time, effort, and money was poured into this building to restore it to its former glory. Well worth a drive to the area, especially if you're already interested in checking out the WW1 Memorial right across the street.

This museum is an incredible glimpse into WWI history. I highly recommend visiting when they have a guided tour scheduled as the guides are very knowledgeable and provide a deeper background into the political and historical matters that played into WWI.
