Horner park is a big beautiful park just south of Montrose. There is a beautiful nature trail along the river. They have outdoor tennis courts, basketball courts, indoor weight room, etc.

Ronan Park runs along the west edge of the Chicago River north of Lawrence. If you switch to the bike path on the east side of the river, you can ride it all the way out to the suburbs and beyond.
