Food Scene

One of the vastest squares in Venice city centre. The Campo is rich in bars where to drink a coffee after a busy day around visiting the town! We might also suggest the "A Beccafico Restaurant": easy to find, just 1 min walk from the flat, reasonable prices and great Italian/Sicilian cuisine. Enjoy a late lunch in the sunshine!

It is situated under the arcade of S.Mark's Square. Open in 1720 with the name of "To Triumphant Venice", it is the oldest coffee house in Italy and one of the most famous and oldest in the world. Giacomo Casanova, Carlo Goldoni, Lord Byron, Charles Dickens, Goethe and Rousseau were frequent visitors in the past! Just imagine yourself sipping a delicious Italian espresso in one of the most beautiful and famous squares in the world, with classical background music played by the orchestra. You may also seat inside, in one of the fascinating and luxurious rooms such as The Chinese and the Oriental Hall that take their inspiration from the Far East; the Hall of the Illustrious Men, decorated with paintings of ten notable Venetians or the Liberty Hall, decorated in an art nouveau style. Because of its location and prestige it is quite expensive, so we strongly suggest having a look at the menu before sitting :)

Arts & Culture

Situated just 5 min walk from the flat, La Fenice Theatre is definitely a must of your stay in Venice. The Opera House, renovated many times over years because of fires, has emerged each time like a Phoenix from the ashes, like its namesake. It is decorated with kilos of gold leaf and stucco that cover its walls and ceiling. If you are an art and music lover, don't miss the opportunity to buy a ticket for a concert, ballet or an opera! ... It's a unique and unforgettable experience ...
