This is an excellent restaurant for families with kids. It is full of model trains, which bring drinks straight to your table! You have to experience it to believe it!

One of the best fish restaurants in Prague, the place is small (looks like a small shack on side of the embankment), service is excellent. Find it by taking stairs to the river level boat docks.

Petrinske teresy is an excellent restaurant on the Petrin hill, it has one of the best views of Prague of any restaurant. Also visit the lookout tower at Petrin Hill. Can be a nice half-day trip.

U Sudu is everyone's favourite bar. From the outside it looks unassuming, but then you discover there are several levels of underground caverns and bars. This is Prague at its best. Highly recommended

Slovansky dum is the best modern movie theatre that's very close to the apartment. They play all the hollywood releases, etc, mostly in English with Czech subtitles, and quite cheap compared to abroad

Prague has great jazz. And one of the best venues is the Prague Jazz Boat! For just 590 Kc, you not only get a jazz concert, but a 2 1/2 hour boat trip on the Vltava. Restaurant is also on board.

Sightseeing
Above the astronomical clock, there is a wonderful tower you can go up (there's an elevator) and get some of the best views of Prague, especially the wonderful rooftops. Definitely recommended.

Letna is a wonderful green park overlooking Prague, with wonderful views. Easy to combine with a visit to the Prague Castle. There's a large playground for kids as well.

Visiting Prague's synagogues is one of the must-do things in the city. The "Jewish Museum" tours the most important synagogues in the former Jewish quarter, and also includes the Old Jewish Cemetery.

Tesco has a good supermarket (in the basement) 100m from the apartment. Also, behind the Tesco there is an amazing new public sculpture of Franz Kafka, designed by renowned Czech artist David Cerny.
