My favorite Thai place in Amsterdam and not just because it is close to the house! Great tasting, real Thai food. They have tofu and also understand the concept of no fish sauce if you are vegetarian.

Easy, fresh, well priced take away spot just past Vondelpark. Best tex-mex I have found so far and they made great salsas.

Best Lebanese food in Amsterdam and right around the corner. Great, friendly family run place with a cosy atmosphere and great food.

Cheap and easy Chinese-ish franchise where you choose your ingredients and they cook it up on the spot. Can't beat the price. There are a few locations but this one has the most seating.

A great, big park that is larger and more wild than Vondelpark (and they have sheep and cows!). Great 9km walk/run round trip.Great picnic/frisbee/hang out spot.

It doesn't get any closer than this, Sarphatipark is right out the front door. Lots of water, fountains, grass, trees and space to hang out and enjoy. Keep an eye out for the flock of parakeets!

This library really takes the cake. It's a great destination just over from Centraal Station Head to the top floor for one of the best views in town and have a fantastic lunch. Highly recommended!

Great bar/cafe spot near the corner of Oosterpak. Super friendly staff, cheap but good food, coffee, and alcohol in a very non-tourist zone. The neighborhood isn't super exciting but the bar is a gem.
