This area is the historic gas supply for the city of Amsterdam that dates back to 1885. It has been in use until 1967 and was later transformed to what it is today. Lots of bar's, restaurants, a movie theatre and gallery can be found here.

Try the "Bolo" beer. It is the local beer and was named after the neighbourhood you're staying - Bos en Lommer.

This is the city beach you can easily acces by train. It will only take you 25 minutes from Station Sloterdijk (platform 7) to the beach. Mango's Beach Bar is worth a visit.

Tram 12 stops around the corner from where you will stay. It takes you the the Museumsquare where you will find the Rijksmuseum, The Van Gogh museum and the Stedelijk Museum (modern art)
Tram 14 also stops here and takes you to the famous Flea market 'Waterlooplein', the Rembrandtplein and the zoo 'Artis'
