Max Patch was cleared many years ago and is now an easy hike to an open area to fly kites, play, or just enjoy the view.

This is a few hours from the house, but one of our favorite places to go tubing. The river is very clean but on the cold side. We recommend JJ’s tubes. You may need small bills because sometimes the rentals are in the honor system.

The Mars Hill Music Department and Theatre Department are often putting on concerts and shows on campus. SART is hosted at Mars Hill in the summer, along with the Lunsford Festival.
