Great dinners, on the pricier side. Not many vegetarian options, but at least two seafood mains a night. And the staff are the sweetest––when I got my wisdom teeth removed, they gave me mashed potatoes on the house.

Wonderful green space for running, biking, picnics or simply strolling. There's a zoo, a skating rink, a museum and in the summer, outdoor theatre. Check out The Grenadier Café for cheap breakfasts.

Do not swim in Lake Ontario, but the boardwalk and nearby Martin Goodman Trail are great for running and cycling. Sunnyside Pool is a great outdoor swimming pool in the summer, too.
