Cassis is a little port village not far from Aix en Provence. (50 km) and you can sit on the sandy beach. I recommend to go there on weekdays, the weekend is very busy.

A great place to start a walk on the Littoral trail that follows the Mediterranean Coast. Carry is a little village on the Blue Coast that is west of Marseille. Only locals go there and you will find few tourists.
