This is a great local coffee place, known for their pour-over coffee. They brew each cup individually. Very cool! They also have beer in the evening.

This is my FAVORITE Chinese food that I've ever had. Upon first arrival, you notice the restaurant is within a grocery store and it seems a bit odd. But the food is amazing and much worth the only-average service. Huge selection of asian food, and a great value for the price/portions.

But the food is amazing and much worth the only-average service. Huge selection of asian food, and a great value for the price/portions.
This is another hidden treasure of Birmingham. Red Bowl is a Korean restaurant within a Korean grocery store. They don't speak a lot of english, but the food is authentic and delicious. I recommend the chicken bibimbap.

This is our favorite Italian in Birmingham. Great pizza and pastas, all made with local and fresh ingredients. It's definitely a hidden treasure, and large portions for a great value!

Gianmarco's is a bit on the pricier side but is a GREAT local spot for a romantic date or if you want some great wine. They have a regular restaurant (reservation required) as well as a bar (no reservation required). Also in the back there is a cute little "wine shack" that serves the full food menu, and you can get bottles of wine for half price. No beer or liquor back there, but that's my favorite spot in town.

One of the best Birmingham breweries if you're a beer drinker. Side note to make sure of - breweries in Alabama do not sell liquor/wine or food - just beer! But this one has a few different great food options and food trucks around the area.

Paramount is a great bar in downtown Birmingham that has a decent selection of beer, and half of the bar is an ARCADE!!! Tons of fun old school games.

Collins Bar has nice inside decor and a nice little outside patio. This place specializes in mixology. How you order your drink is tell the bartender what alcohol you like, and flavors you like or dislike... Then they make a drink based on what you tell them! They have some great ones.
