Delicious French bakery/restaurant! Love the quiches (best during the week with no crust in my opinion), fresh bread and croissants, coffee, and amazing French Onion Soup. A must-try in my book!

Awesome place with TWO restaurants inside a 1900's elementary school! Such cool architecture inside and out. One business is a local brewery/restaurant. The other is a restaurant/café/bar. The bar is called the Principle's Office. A must-see in Colorado Springs for atmosphere and great food, baked goods, drinks, and coffee! And great outdoor seating when the weather is nice! Tip: Park on the back side of the building if it's busy.

Cool ice cream shop right next to the downtown indie theater! Many flavors, most of which I still want to try! Plus they stay open late.

Really unique and tasty restaurant downtown! Alice in wonderland theme inside, and you walk down a "rabbit hole" from the main street to get to the restaurant. Make a reservation if on the weekend! And they're open late! Note: the actual entrance is on Kiowa St, not Tejon.

Cool, modern, hip coffee spot! Delicious unique drinks, and tasty pastries and food options. Good for meeting up for coffee, and usually not super loud or crowded. I've seen people there studying as well.

Hands down one of my favorite places to meet up with friends or family! It's really cool and modern, but cozy. Great food, alcoholic drinks, draft beer, wine, and coffee. They have garage-style doors on two sides that they open when the weather is nice, and always have live music at night on the weekend! Some of the best live jazz I've heard was here.

Great place for brunch! Really tasty and unique dishes. Inside is a little cold during winter, but worth it if you keep your jacket on! They also have a little market where they sell cakes, juices, ice cream, pasta, etc.

One of my favorite restaurants! I love the cozy atmosphere with wood tables and chairs and local art. Really great breakfast - and I've heard lunch and dinner are equally good. I recommend their French toast, omelets, pancakes, potato bowls, and huevos rancheros! They are also vegetarian and vegan friendly.

Quirky café in Manitou Springs that makes hot or cold beverages using Mate (a South American tea) instead of coffee - still wakes you up though! It has a somewhat grassy flavor, but I love it. They do a chai version, and have smoothies too. They also have unique baked goods, and really tasty sandwiches, soups, and breakfast options. Everything inside is hand-built, including the tables. Looks like a café in the middle of the rain forest! If you can snag a table, it's worth checking out.

Tasty restaurant right by a creek (with tree shade) that is perfect for a summer lunch! Be sure to ask for a seat outside down by the creek. They also have free wine tasting upstairs - all Colorado wines! Not too pricey, and a beautiful drive up there as well.

Parks & Nature

Great trail with wonderful views that people of all ages and physical fitness levels can hike! One of my faves for families or groups. Beautiful views of the city, mountains, and the Cheyenne Mountain Canyon. Look up "Mount Cutler Trail" on your maps app to find the exact location for parking.

Arguably the most difficult, but most rewarding hike you will find! The Olympic trainees and fit locals hike here on the regular to keep in shape. The trail itself is not long, but it's ALL vertical gain. Many physical fitness levels can do it if paced properly, but I have seen people bail out half way up! DO NOT try this trail if you haven't been in Colorado a day or two to adjust to the altitude. Bring plenty of water, maybe even a snack. Sunscreen is a must since you won't find much shade until your hike down (take the Bar Trail down - ask people at the top). Parking can be a beast: https://www.visitcos.com/things-to-do/outdoors/manitou-incline-near-colorado-springs-colorado/

Free park with unique rock formations and mostly flat walking trails. You can hike up a little in areas. Plan on getting there early to get a parking spot, they are surprisingly limited on busy days. You'll also need to drive through the park to see the various rock formations (Balanced Rock, Siamese Twins etc). There's a visitor's/nature center as well, which I've heard has a decent breakfast that is also cheap! There is also rock climbing! Reserve ahead of time. https://www.gardenofgods.com/

Relatively easy hike along which you'll see a couple of falls! Best in early summer or if it's been raining. The falls at the base are usually most full of water, the ones up the trail can be full, or just a trickle, but still a gorgeous area just to look and hike.

Great for families with younger kids - they will have a blast! various small carnival type rides, and a ferris wheel with amazing views! I went as a kid, and still have memories from that day. Best for summer, but go early since the sun is intense. Summer afternoon thunderstorms are a common thing in the mountains, so may want to bring a jacket/umbrella.
