You will be leaving Ocean City to visit this Island. Assateague is located 8 miles away from Ocean City. There is a state and a national park. You would need to purchase a pass to enter either park and access the ocean. They offer daily/weekly/annual passes.

Ocean City is considered a peninsula. It starts downtown (south) and goes all the way up to 144 street. The boardwalk is down town all the way up to 28th street. You can find various establishments on the boardwalk, from restarurants to various types of shops. While on the boardwalk, you can walk, rent bikes, or hop on the boardwalk tram ($4 ticket).
Ride all day bus through Ocean City is available ($3 ticket), it runs through Baltimore and Philadelphia Ave.

Транспорт
Access to the beach/boardwalk
The beach is two blocks away from the property. Head north and make a right on the 1st street. The boarwakk/beach will be in front of you. It is best to go north vs. south as crossing the street on the south of the property is hard due to the incoming traffic from the bridge.
There is no charge to access the beach. There are vendors on the beach renting umbrellas.
