Uber and Lyft are the fastest way to get into DC.
If you want to take public transportation we recommend taking the Metro Way bus to the Crystal City or Braddock Station. This will take between 45 minutes to an hour to get into the city. *A new metro stop is being completed near our home (10 minute walk) and will hopefully be done by 2023.

Take a scenic bike ride into the city with Capital Bikeshare
Two minutes from our home is a Capital Bikeshare station. Rent a bike and take the Mount Vernon trail for a 24 minute ride to Tidal Basin.

DC is made for walking and biking. We recommend renting a Capital Bikeshare bike for cruising the monuments. They aren't as close to each other as they look.
